PATROL Party List condemns killing of Pampanga journo

ANGELES CITY – “This act of cowardice by still unknown assailants should have no place in today’s society.”

Thus said Cong. Jorge Bustos, founder of PATROL Party List, who personally knew slain journalist Jesus “Jess” Malabanan.

According to Bustos, PATROL Party List expresses in strongest possible terms the senseless killing of Malabanan, a former acquaintance in Pampanga where the late newsman is regarded to have practiced with unwavering dedication and commitment as a journalist, especially his reports on crimes and other misdeeds.

“While we mourn his demise and condole with the family, the PATROL Party List is ever more resolute in seeking measures in Congress that should help guarantee prevention of killings and acts of violence. It shall also continue to endeavor for the prosecution and punishment of criminal elements,” Bustos said.

Bustos furthered that the PATROL Party List is calling on all law enforcement agencies to move promptly and diligently in bringing behind bars the killers of Mr. Malabanan.

“The early resolution to bring about justice forms part of our call to strengthen a nation where all Filipino families are able to enjoy comfortable, resilient, and secure lives and are more than committed to lay their lives, aspirations, and persevere for the Motherland,” he said.
