TARLAC CITY – The Department of Public Works and Highways has completed the construction of five flood control structures along various sections of Camiling River in Tarlac, which have a total length of 2,166-lineal meters.
Tarlac 1st District Engineer Neil Farala said the newly-built flood mitigation structures are located in Surgui 1st-Cacamilingan Sur, Telbang-Tuec, and Cacamilingan Norte-Tambugan; and in the Cayaoan and Bilad Sections of the Camiling River.
“Several barangays of Camiling are known to be highly-susceptible to flooding the reason why the DPWH has focused on building infrastructures designed to prevent or mitigate flood-related disasters,” Farala said.
Some P320 million was earmarked for these projects.
