CAMP GENERAL ALEJO S SANTOS – Police Col. Rommel Javier Ochave was installed as acting director of the Bulacan Police Provincial Office effective January 8, replacing Col. Manuel Lukban Jr., who served the province for three months.
Ochave belonged to the Philippine National Police Academy Class of 1996 and served as chief of the Intelligence Division of the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG).
Ochave vowed to lead the Bulacan police with commitment and benevolence as he asked his men and the community to help him continue the intensified campaign against illegal drugs, terrorism and other crimes to ensure a peaceful election in May in the province.
As the election period kicks off, eight new police chiefs in Bulacan were designated:
- Maj. Rodrigo Bautista Sahagun as Angat police OIC;
- Maj. Michael Ranay Udal, Balagtas police OIC;
- Lt. Col. Julius Casibo Alvaro, as Baliwag police OIC;
- Maj. Leopoldo Labto Estorque Jr., as Bustos police OIC;
- Lt. Col. Wendel Timbang Arinas, as OIC of Calumpit police;
- Lt. Col. Isagani Ventura Enriquez, as OIC of Guiguinto police;
- Maj. Gregorio Torres Santos, as OIC of Obando police;
- Maj. Karl Siwa Yuzon Jr., as OIC of Paombong police;
- Lt. Col. Allan Barruga Palomo, OIC of CSJDM police;
- Lt. Col. Luis Esquilon Guisic, as OIC of San Rafael police; and
- Maj. Michael Magsakay Santos, OIC of 2nd PMFC
The reshuffle took effect on January 7 and was part of the PNP’s normal procedure.
As the May 9 polls approach, Ochave said the Bulacan police will remain apolitical and impartial, and will not engage in any partisan political activities. Any personnel found to be in violation will face administrative sanctions.
