CLARK FREEPORT – A joint operation last Saturday led to the seizure of 3,034 pieces of party drugs or ecstasy worth P5,157,800 from a woman and her cohort who claimed the “package” at Philand Drive, Pasong Tamo, Tandang Sora.
The said package arrived at the Bureau of Customs Port of Clark on January 20, where authorities found several tablets of suspected MDMA or ecstacy concealed in the interlayer cardboard.
The suspects were identified as consignee Evelyn Sotto/Jennica Abas, a resident of Bgy. Tatalon, Quezon City; and Genevie Abas, also of Brgy Tatalon.
The police team leader said the PDEA-ICFAS was informed by the Shenzen Chinese Customs to about a package from The Netherlands that may contain illegal drugs.
The operation was conducted by the combined elements of PDEA RO III, PDEA Clark Inter Agency Drug Interdiction Task Group, PDEA-3 RSET, PDEA-Zambales, PDEA-ICFAS, PDEA-NCR, QCDO, PNP Station 3 (Talipapa), Station 14 (Pasongtamo) and Bureau of Customs, Port of Clark.
The two suspects will be charged with violation of Section 4 or importation of dangerous drugs.
