Leaders and members of LAIKKO-Pampanga have expressed support to the candidacy of Vice President Leni Robredo and Senator Francis Pangilinan for President and Vice President, respectively, in the May 9, 2022 elections.
In a statement, LAIKKO-Pampanga Lead Convenor James Jesus N. Pasamonte, R.Ph, M.M and Banjo C. Serrano, M.A., president of the Archdiocesan Council of the Laity, said the group “conducted an in-depth analysis of each candidates’ trustworthiness based on his character, competence, commitment and compliance to the rule of law according to their track records, pronouncements and platform of governance.”
“With open heart and mind through the aid of the Holy Spirit, we studied thoroughly the present and future issues in the area of poverty, health, education, governance and also the use of false and wrong information in the propaganda of different persons and sectors in society,” they said.
They also looked into the candidates’ position on and their understanding and capacity to respond to the different issues.
“Thus, we commit ourselves, as a witness to our faith as lay Christian Catholics, to promote the campaign for good governance and responsible citizenship and to combat the false and fake information so that truth will prevail. May the Lord bless and help us in this endeavor that we intend to promote and advocate for the common good,” they said.
