BATAAN – A man carrying a gun was apprehended at a checkpoint in this province.
In a report to Bataan police director Col. Romell Velasco, Dinalupihan police commander Lt. Col. Emelito dela Cruz said his men nabbed Marcelino Lapada, 49, a resident of E. Santos, Balibago, Angeles City.
Police officers manning a checkpoint along Porac-Dinalupihan Road, in Bgy. Tucop flagged down a plateless motorcycle being driven by Lapada and when asked for his driver’s license and vaccination card, he told them he was an agent of the CIDG and voluntarily opened his black belt bag to show that he was armed.
Lapada was requested to show a certificate of authority issued by the Committee on the Ban on Firearms and Security Concerns (CBFSC) but could not show any, prompting the cops to arrest him.
Confiscated from him was a .45 pistol loaded with eight live bullets.
He will be charged with violations of RA 10591 (Illegal Possession of firearms) and Comelec gun ban.
