CAMP OLIVAS – PRO3 director Brig. Gen. Matthew Baccay spearheaded the launching of “Kasimbayanan” with the Commission on Elections (Comelec), Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP), Philippine Coast Guard (PCG), religious sector and community leaders on Wednesday inside this camp in support of the government’s campaign for secure and fair elections.
The event was highlighted with the pinning of the SAFE 2022 pins and lighting of the SAFE candles by the officials of the PNP, PCG, AFP, COMELEC, NAMFREL, DICT, PPRCV, religious and community leaders followed by the signing of a Covenant of Peace to foster community solidarity, aiming to restore the trust and credibility in the electoral process and help ensure a secure, accurate, fair and free elections.
Solidarity messages were also given by Atty Elmo Duque, Assistant Regional Director, Comelec 3; Col. Joseph Norwin Pasamonte, 703RD BDE commander; Rev. Fr. Melchor Sitchon; Pastor Lester Samson and Baccay.
“Hangad po namin ang pagkakaisa ng lahat – ang ating mga mamamayan, iba’t-ibang sektor ng lipunan, at ang ating mga kandidato – at makasama kayo sa pagpapanatili ng kapayapaan at kaayusan upang maging protektado ang bawat boto sa darating na halalan. Let us do this and work together so that we could give region 3 a safe national and local electoral process,” Baccay said.
The ceremony concluded with the blessing of the different religious leaders and the releasing of white doves by the participants.
