
MABALACAT CITY – Mayor Crisostomo “Cris” Garbo stressed that he is pushing gender equality among workers at the city government.
“We promote gender equality in the workplace, not to mention we give due respect to women,” said Garbo in his message for women’s month.
Garbo said he is not favoring “some workers who seem to feel they are close to him.”
“We treat all of the workers equally,” he added.
The mayor is staunch defender of women’s rights. Garbo said women “work beyond the call of duty.” He urged them to continue their service with commitment and humility.
Garbo also pointed out that he expects women to help develop a “better Mabalacat City.”
“Women immensely contribute to nation-buiding,” he added.
Vice Mayor Geld Aquino, for his part, said “gone are the days when women are plain housewives.” He said they help in the transforming “a much progressive society.”
“They are women with substance. They don’t just take care of a family but the people in the society as well. They are very dynamic,” he added.
