MABALACAT CITY – Pampanga Gov. Dennis Pineda has reiterated his support to Mayor Crisostomo Garbo and his slate in the upcoming local elections, citing the mayor’s stint as entirely different from previous administrations.
In an interview with New Media Pampanga, Pineda said the provincial government fully supports his candidacy as well as those belonging to Team MCG.
His remarks were made before the start of program in the opening salvo of Team MCG in Mabalacat on Saturday that was attended by tens of thousands.
“Ang suporta po ng provincial government, kami po ni Nanay (Vice Governor Lilia Pineda) ay na kay Mayor Cris Garbo,” the Governor said.
The Governor has praised the reforms implemented by Garbo in Mabalacat since assuming the mayorship in July 2017, which he said were absent in the previous administration.
“Tingnan nyo po, malayong-malayo ang dating administrasyon sa administrasyon ni Mayor Cris,” Pineda said.
“Dito makikita ninyo kung ano ang pagmamahal sa mga kababayan natin sa Mabalacat. Ramdam na ramdam ninyo ang serbisyo ni Mayor Cris,” he added.
He also urged voters to remain on the side of the Garbo administration.
“Wag na kayong mag dalawang isip pa. Wag na kayong bumalik sa dati,” he said.
Garbo is facing former mayor Marino Morales and newsman Deng Pangilinan in the upcoming polls. In 2019, he won by more than 20,000 votes over rival Christian Halili who is now the running mate of Morales.
Team MCG comprises of reelectionists Vice Mayor Geld Aquino, Councilors Victor Tiglao, Noel Castro, Jun Castro, Timothy Dee, Carl Dizon, Liza Pineda, Jerry Magsino, Rox Pena, Cherry Manalo and Marjorie Sambo.
