CAMP OLIVAS – A robbery complaint was filed by the Bataan police against the incumbent mayor of Mariveles town.
In a report to PRO3 director Brig. Gen. Matthew Baccay, Bataan police director Col. Romell Velasco said a complaint was lodged against Mariveles Mayor Jocelyn Castañeda, who allegedly led a group in ransacking a vehicle before carting away election campaign materials of her opponent last April 25 in Bgy. Ipag, Mariveles.
Velasco said the complaint was lodged with the provincial prosecutor’s office after the owner of the commuter van sought the help of authorities in pressing charges against Castañeda.
“The PNP will always remain non-partisan and apolitical. We will never meddle with the political exercise of anybody, or in any area. We are here to implement and enforce the law,” Baccay said.
