Armed man robs Korean mini store in Mabalacat

MABALACAT CITY – A Korean mini store in this city was robbed on Monday afternoon by a man who posed as a customer and took off with the store’s P10,000 cash sales.

In a report to Pampanga police director Col. Robin King Sarmiento, Mabalacat City acting police chief Lt. Col. Heryl Bruno said victim Liezel Cayabyab, 35, of Lawi, Capas, Tarlac, and cashier at Jeoung Su Korean mini mart located at San Francisco, Mabalacat City, told authorities that a man wearing a pink jacket with red helmet and face mask entered the store armed with .9 mm pistol and declared the heist.

The suspect took at least P10,000 cash sales and the victim’s cellphone worth P7,000.

The suspect allegedly fired the handgun, almost hitting the victim’s right cheek before escaping on a motorcycle. The victim was rushed to the Mabalacat District Hospital for treatment.

The Mabalacat cops flashed an alarm to neighboring police units for a possible dragnet operation. 

The cops are checking the CCTV footage to track the escape route of the suspect.
