As of April 15: Mabalacat City enters 2nd week of zero COVID-19 cases

MABALACAT CITY – The City Government, through its COVID-19 Response Integrated System, recorded another day of zero new COVID-19 cases on Good Friday (April 15, 2022).

This marks the city’s record of 14 straight days with zero active cases after the overwhelming surge of the Omicron Variant in February, and despite the resumption of various face-to-face activities across Mabalacat City.

In line with the recent observance of Holy Week this year, Mayor Crisostomo Garbo allowed the in-person holding of various Lenten rites and Liturgical activities in the city.

The city mayor has also reiterated strict adherence to government-mandated health and safety protocols. In the same way, Garbo has activated all the city’s emergency, peace, and order instrumentalities such as the Mabalacat City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office, Traffic Enforcement Group, and local PNP, including all the city’s Sangguniang Barangay to ensure a safe and orderly Holy Week observance.

To date, the city has a total of 8,815 confirmed cases of COVID-19 where 8,576 of which, accruing to 97.3%, have recovered.
