BATAAN – Police arrested three wanted persons along with nine illegal gamblers and seized a gun during a two-day anti-crime operation in the province.
According to Bataan police director Col. Rommell Velasco, three wanted persons in separate manhunt operations on Saturday conducted by elements of Morong and Orion police were nabbed for estafa and reckless imprudence resulting in damage to property.
On Sunday, Mariveles police conducted an operation on illegal cockfighting in Sampaloc Extension, Bgy. Balon-Anito, in Mariveles, Bataan that led to the arrest of four gamblers, all residents of Bgy. Balon-Anito.
Confiscated from them were a gaff, a fighting cock and bet money amounting to P4,250.
On the same day, members of the Hermosa police and 1st PMFC Bataan also conducted an anti-illegal gambling operation in Bgy. Bacong, Hermosa, Bataan which resulted in the arrest of five suspects who were caught in the act engaging in tupada.
The raid yielded two live fighting cocks, three dead fighting cocks, two pieces of gaffs and a cash bet amounting to P 3,300.
Meanwhile, one .45 pistol was personally surrendered to Pilar police as result of Oplan Katok, a PNP drive to account for all unlicensed firearms.
