Bicolanos receive relief goods from Kapampangans

CAMARINES SUR — At least 12,000 residents here severely affected by recent flooding from Typhoon Kristine received relief supplies from the people of Pampanga.

On behalf of Kapampangans, Pampanga Governor Dennis “Delta” Pineda, Pampanga Mayors League President and Apalit Mayor Jun Tetangco, Special Assistant to the Governor and PDRRM Chief Angelina Blanco, and Acting PSWDO Fe Manarang led the distribution of 6,000 food packs to the municipality of Milaor on Saturday, October 9.

Governor Pineda encouraged Bicolanos to remain resilient, drawing on Kapampangans’ own experiences recovering from the Mount Pinatubo eruption. He expressed solidarity, assuring the people of Bicol that Kapampangans stand with them in their path to recovery.

Another 6,000 residents of San Fernando also received assistance from Kapampangans. Governor Pineda explained that the provincial government chose to support San Fernando as a gesture of gratitude to the Bicolanos, who had come to Pampanga’s aid during an oil spill threat from Bataan earlier this year.

Joining Governor Delta in the  Pampanga delegation are 132 personnel from the provincial government, Highway Patrol Group, Pampanga Police Office, and 32 vehicles.

Through this aid, Pampanga aims to provide renewed hope and resilience to the Bicolanos demonstrating the steadfast support that Kapampangans extend to fellow Filipinos in times of need.
