CLARK FREEPORT — Two new bikers’ destinations will open inside this Freeport to welcome both the bike-riding public and professional bikers, with the launching of “Clark as a Biker-Friendly Zone” on June 3, 2022 in front of the Clark Museum.
The launching of these destinations – the Bikers’ Pit Stop and the Cross Country Trail – coincides with the Philcycling Festival happening in this Freeport from June 3 to 5, 2022, according to the Clark Development Corporation.
CDC said a simultaneous ribbon-cutting ceremony will be held in front of the Clark Museum, Bikers’ Pitstop, and the Clark Cross Country Trail to kick-off the launch.
The Bikers’ Pit Stop is a stopover designed to become a one-stop shop located at the rotunda bounded by Panday Pira Avenue and Creekside Road.
The design of the pit stop takes inspiration from the surrounding greenery and promotes an eco-friendly and sustainable design made from recovered woods. It’s also a dedicated rest area where bikers and their families can relax and recharge.
The pit stop will have retail spaces that can be rented out to interested concessionaires offering various goods and services for bikers.
Food trucks, bike parking area, self-service bike cleaning kiosk, parts and repair shop, first-aid clinic, restrooms, and a pump track will soon be made available to the public.
The Cross Country Trail, meanwhile, is a new bikers’ course featuring a challenging route specially made for professional bikers and adrenaline junkies who are seeking a thrilling adventure.
The Cross Country Trail is also located along Creekside Road and its starting point is at Midori Park.
Meanwhile, more bike-friendly signage that will include emergency hotlines will be placed along bike paths and existing bike lanes to ensure safety among bikers and motorists alike.
These will also appear along major thoroughfares of this Freeport to remind the bikers of traffic rules and regulations and maintain a safe environment for everyone.
CDC continues to advocate and implement the “bike culture” within the Freeport to encourage a healthier lifestyle among residents, workers and visitors.
