STA. RITA, Pampanga — Second District Board Member Mylyn Pineda-Cayabyab on Tuesday distributed goods, vitamins and financial assistance to vulnerable sectors of the community here who have yet to receive assistance from government amid the ongoing pandemic.
Pineda-Cayabyab made true to her promise to help pregnant women and cancer patients as she visited two distribution centers in Barangays San Jose and Diladila in this town. She earlier met with leaders of the Nanay Community Workers (NCW) to consolidate lists of people from various sectors needing assistance.
The lady provincial legislator distributed food packs as well as vitamins good for three weeks. She said she aims to assure vulnerable sectors that the provincial government is one with them in their needs and concerns.
The distribution was also an opportunity for the board member to meet local residents and hear their concerns.
“We hope to reach people who have yet to receive anything amid this ongoing pandemic. It is a statement of assurance that their local government is here for them,” Pineda Cayabyab said.
Pineda-Cayabyab is also set to distribute assistance in the coming days for other sectors like persons with disabilities, transport groups and the gay and lesbian communities. Funding for the assistance will be sourced from her personal funds.
