ANGELES CITY — Mutya Ning Angeles candidate number 15, Myrna Esguerra, won best local costume in this afternoon’s Parade of Beautés held at the Event Center of SM City Clark.
Esguerra’s costume, named “Pamaglala Master Piece”, showcases the livelihood of the people of Barangay Anunas.
“The passion and creativity of the people behind the weavers was the inspiration of the modern Filipiniana. This costume was made out of beads from our Aeta brothers and the actual materials were inspired by the materials used for weaving baskets and furniture. This masterpiece is made purely by the hands of Barangay Anunas,” Esguerra said.
She took home a prize of ₱100,000 which was sponsored by The Clouds Bar and The Grounds.
Meanwhile, Dynara Maurer of Barangay Balibago took home the first runner-up award, Marianne Rada of Barangay Pulung Cacutud received the second runner-up, Giannine Danielle Batul of Barangay Capaya got the third runner-up, and Genica Cruz of Barangay Cutcut rounded out the top 5.
