Bulacan cops nab 5 rent-sangla modus suspects, recover 2 SUVs

BULACAN – Members of the Provincial Highway Patrol Team-Bulacan led by Maj. Michael Villar arrested five persons involved in a rent-sangla modus in Loma De Gato, Marilao here.

Villar identified the suspects as Jennelyn Godoy, 33; Harvie Odin, 35; Lorenzo Sagayap, 32; John Ace Chavez, 22; and Carlo Etomay, 39.

Meanwhile, two vehicles were recovered in the operation described as a Toyota Avanza (NGF 2944); and Mitsubishi Montero (CAR 8878).

Regional Chief RHPU3 Col. Bernard B. Marzal said the Toyota Avanza was rented by the suspects in January from its registered owner identified as Monalisa Pajames. However, Pajames found out that the suspects pawned her vehicle without her knowledge and consent.

Marzal said after the recovery of the vehicle, a follow-up operation was conducted that resulted in the recovery of a Mitsubishi Montero that was rented by the suspects from its registered owner identified as Ruvie Jane Amores, while in the act of pawning to a certain Ms. Cobacha without the registered owner’s consent.

The suspects will be charged two counts for violation of RA 10883 or the New Anti-Carnapping Acts of 2016.
