
Even as Gilas Pilipinas bowed out of the FIBA Asia Cup with a 67-80 quarterfinals loss to Australia, Cabalen sportscaster Carlo Pamintuan is head up high in helping bring honor to the country.
Covering the national team for the past decade, Pamintuan shares pride in this latest attempt for the country to regain basketball supremacy in Asia.
“Ten years documenting Gilas Pilipinas. Witnessed many ups and downs, witnessed the changing in the guard, but the passion and pride remain constant,” Pamintuan posted in his FB account.
Loooking a little gloomy on his posted picture on the sidelines of the FIBA Asia Cup in Jeddah, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Pamintuan elicited positive reactions on his coverage of the regional hoopla.
Well-wishers praised his coverage and style, asking him to continue sharing Gilas stories.
“It has been an honor telling each and every story,” he added as he thanked Cignal and the Samahan ng Basketbol ng Pilipinas.
A native of Angeles City, Carlo Pamintuan is a nephew of forrmer Mayor Edgardo Pamintuan.
He has been covering as commentator and analyst of PBA games as well as international sports spectaculars that include the Olympics and the NBA Finals.
