ARAYAT, Pampanga — The Provincial Government of Pampanga is set to open Sinukwan Purified Water, a newly established water refilling station in Barangay San Juan Baño, Arayat, sourcing its water directly from the natural springs of Mount Arayat.
The project was made possible through the initiative of Governor Lilia “Nanay” Pineda and Vice Governor Dennis “Delta” Pineda, who commissioned the installation of a modern water filtration system to ensure safe and affordable drinking water for local communities.
Governor Pineda personally inspected the newly installed facility and sampled the purified water on Tuesday, March 4 which undergoes a comprehensive Reverse Osmosis filtration process. The visit aimed to ensure that the system meets safety and quality standards before full public operation.
Advanced, Environment-Friendly Technology
The water station is powered entirely by solar energy, making it 100% renewable and capable of continuous operation even without a direct electricity supply. This sustainable approach reduces operational costs while promoting environmentally responsible practices.
Water sourced from Mount Arayat passes through a three-stage filtration process, including Reverse Osmosis and ultraviolet (UV) light sterilization, to guarantee that the final product is clean, safe, and potable.
According to technical experts, once fully operational, the facility can produce up to more than 5,000 bottles of purified water per day.
Support for Communities, Students, and Hospitals
The initiative is expected to significantly benefit residents of Barangay San Juan Baño and nearby communities, particularly those located far from main water supply lines. By utilizing the mountain’s abundant natural spring water, the project transforms a long-standing local resource into a reliable source of free safe drinking water.
Governor Nanay added that the water has been thoroughly tested and evaluated for safety and quality.
“The provincial government plans to distribute bottled water to students in the municipality to help reduce the cost of purchasing mineral water, and to supply purified water to district hospitals across Pampanga in order to support healthcare operations,” she said.
Local residents expressed their gratitude for the project, noting that the spring water—long consumed by the community has now been further enhanced through modern purification technology.
“We are thankful to Governor Nanay for this water refilling station. For many years, the water was abundant but not fully utilized. This project will benefit not only Arayat but the entire province of Pampanga,” said Mayor Jeff Luriz.
The Sinukwan Purified Water facility stands as a testament to the province’s commitment to sustainable development and public health, aligning with the mandate of the “Alagang Nanay Preventive Healthcare Program” and maximizing natural resources for the welfare of its people.
