CLARK FREEPORT — Clark Marriott Hotel has achieved another milestone as it was awarded the prestigious ASEAN MICE Venue Standard (Category Meeting Room) Award.
The awarding ceremony for the 2022 ASEAN Tourism Awards was held at Sokha Beach Resort, Preah Sihanouk Province, Kingdom of Cambodia last January 19, 2022.
Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of the Philippines to the Kingdom of Cambodia Maria Amelita C. Aquino and Attaché Reichelle V. Corpuz received the awards for the country, while Secretary of the Department of Tourism – Philippines Berna Romulo-Puyat attended the event virtually.
Macro to Micro Impact in Tourism
MICE is one of the growing sectors in ASEAN Countries. With the ASEAN MICE Venue Standards (AMVS), certified MICE venues like Clark Marriott Hotel will aim to remain competitive and cooperative in providing quality MICE venues to the visitors, making ASEAN a competitive MICE region.
“This recognition of our local cities, and hotels and MICE venues not only serves as a testament to the Philippines’ commitment to uphold the best tourism standards, it also mirrors the strong Bayanihan spirit we have exhibited to overcome this crisis,” Puyat said.
The Tourism’s Region 3 Office, headed by Regional Director Carol Uy, is one with this achievement as it signifies the region’s continuous preparedness to accommodate guests and tourists despite the pandemic.
Clark Marriott Hotel, among other properties given this prestigious international recognition, will be further promoted and prioritized in various platforms of DOT and ASEAN.
Likewise, DOT will continuously update and monitor the performance of these venues to ensure that they maintain their quality and standard as specified in AMVS.
