HERMOSA, BATAAN – A tip from a courier service on Tuesday resulted in the seizure of 30 grams of marijuana from a male claimant in Barangay San Pedro, this town.
Authorities identified the claimant as Christian Jomar of Bgy. San Pedro.
PDEA Bataan Provincial Officer said they were informed by a courier service that a package from Sta. Rosa, Laguna may contain illegal drugs.
“The package underwent physical examination on January 24, which led to the discovery of one plastic sachet containing at least 30 grams of dried marijuana leaves concealed in a hoody jacket. The discovery prompted us to launch an entrapment through a controlled delivery operation,” said the PDEA Bataan chief.
The operation yielded some 30 grams of marijuana worth P5,000, a cell phone and a jacket with hood.
The operation was jointly conducted by PDEA Bataan PO, PDEA Bataan SIU, Hermosa Police Station, Bataan PPDEU/PIU, and 1st PMFC.
The suspect will be charged with violation of Republic Act 9165.
