DENR’s ‘Greenwheels: Compliance On-the-Go’ set in Tarlac

The Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) here, through the Environmental Management Bureau (EMB), will stage the ‘GreenWheels: Compliance On-the-Go’ program in Tarlac on March 24 to make environmental assistance more accessible to industries and local communities.

Now on its fifth leg, the activity will be held at the Diwa ng Tarlac Conference Room, Capitol Compound, San Vicente, Tarlac City.

The program will provide industries, establishments, and communities with on-site assistance on environmental permit applications and other online services, including those related to the Environmental Compliance Certificate, Discharge Permit, Permit to Operate, Hazardous Waste Generator ID, Pollution Control Officer, and the Chemical Registration System.

EMB Regional Director Martin Jose Despi said the initiative was designed to address geographical barriers by bringing permitting services directly to communities and stakeholders in need.

“We want to bring permitting services directly to the public, minimize delays in the processing of applications through real-time support, raise awareness on environmental regulations, and build stronger partnerships with local government units and other stakeholders,” Despi said.

The activity will also feature an information campaign for youth leaders from Tarlac State University, with discussions on climate change, water conservation, and solid waste management.

For his part, DENR Regional Executive Director Ralph Pablo said the event reflects the Department’s continuing efforts to improve public service delivery and make frontline services more responsive and accessible.

“This activity supports the tall order of Environment Secretary Juan Miguel Cuna to streamline DENR services by bringing our frontline services closer to the people. It strengthens environmental governance, makes compliance more accessible and convenient for stakeholders, and reflects our commitment to a more responsive and people-centered public service,” Pablo said.

GreenWheels is being conducted in line with the celebration of World Water Day and Philippine Water Week.

The DENR invites the public to take part in the activity and support efforts to promote public awareness and community participation toward environmental protection.
