ANGELES CITY — The Technology for Education, to gain Employment, train Entrepreneurs towards Economic Development (Tech4ED) project of the Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) helps the Philippines in breaking the digital divide.

In her message during the National Tech4ED-Digital Transformation Center (DTC) Awards 2025 held in Angeles City, DICT Undersecretary Christina Faye Condez-De Sagon emphasized that breaking the digital divide is making information and communications technology (ICT) more inclusive.

“This flagship project is providing communities with access to ICT-enabled services by establishing Tech4ED-DTCs across the country. It offers various services on online education, skills training for employment, support for entrepreneurs, access to e-government services, and also serves as a digital library,” she furthered.

Through this project, DICT has helped Filipinos from various sectors in the areas of online selling, virtual assistance, and in fighting cybercrime.

Condez-De Sagon disclosed that ICT empowerment has helped create about eight million digital jobs.

Meanwhile, Liloy DTC of Region IX and BASULTA placed first among the Top Performing Tech4ED Centers during the National Tech4ED-DTC Awards 2025.

Palawan State University-Palawan International Technology Business Incubator Tech4ED Center of MIMAROPA region finished second while the Cagayan Provincial Learning and Resource Center DTC of Region II ended third.
