BALER, Aurora – The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) is set to begin construction of a new bridge in barangay Obligacion in Baler.
Aurora District Engineer Roderick Andal said this is one of the priority projects to be undertaken by DPWH for the improvement of transport connectivity in the province.
“It will be easier to get to barangay Obligacion due to the construction of a two-lane bridge with a total length of 0.25 kilometers including approaches,” he disclosed.
The P110.88 million project is expected to be completed by August next year.
“This will definitely benefit the residents of barangay Obligacion as well as provide better land travel to motorists heading to Maria Aurora and Dipaculao towns,” Andal furthered.
Construction of the bridge was given appropriate funding to replace the existing one that is frequently submerged to swollen river during heavy rains and typhoons.
