Even during his birthday celebration, Clark Development Corporation (CDC) Chairman Edgardo Pamintuan never failed to deliver takeaways as he called for having a united or “One Clark.”
During his speech, Pamintuan took note of the developments in Clark, particularly the Airport to New Clark City Road (ANAR) project.
Praising Engr. Jake Bingcang, president of the Bases Conversion and Development Authority (BCDA) who was among the select guests for his 75th birthday, Pamintuan cited the 19-kilometer road project. The ANAR was opened by President Ferdinand Marcos, Jr. last week, with Pamintuan serving as one of the invited guests.
“Napakaganda ng ginawa mo doon,” the former Angeles City mayor said.
Pamintuan however called for efforts to unify Clark and its developments.
“Dalawa na ang Clark ngayon. Gawin na lang natin iisa ang Freeport at ang Clark Special Economic Zone, para hindi magulo,” the CDC Chairman said, referring to the fenced-in 4,440-hectare Clark Freeport which used to serve as the Clark Air Base proper during the stay of US troops.
On the one hand, CSEZ, where NCC is located, is part of the 30,000-hectare reverted baseland called as Sub Zone.
“Naguguluhan ang tao eh. Bakit ang dami ng Clark dyan… iisa lang po ang Clark. Magkakasama po tayo. One Clark, one vision, one mission,” he summed up.
Pamintuan virtually endorsed the “One Clark” program of Bingcang which he introduced when he assumed the helm of BCDA in June 2023.
In his speech, the former winner of World’s Top Mayor Award was profuse in saying thank you to former President and now 3rd District Rep. Gloria Macapagal Arroyo and Converge top honcho Dennis Uy who were among the VIP guests.
Also filling the Best Western Metro Clark were Pagcor Chairman Alejandro Tengco, Rep. Jon Lazatin, Mayor Pogi Lazatin, LIPAD President Noel Manankil, CDC President Agnes Devanadera, other executives of government agencies and private sector, businessmen, family members, close friends, and former classmates.
