CITY OF SAN FERNANDO – In time for the Christmas season, some 21 locals here learned how to make hams through a one-day skills training on meat processing conducted by the city government.
The one-day training was in cooperation with the Investment Promotion Office and in partnership with the Department of Trade and Industry.
The Negosyo Center-San Fernando also provided livelihood kits to the beneficiaries with an aim of creating more micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) in the city.
The same beneficiaries may apply for an entrepreneurial subsidy under the LGU’s “Negosyo sa Barangay” program to avail grants and assistance that would help them start and grow their businesses.
In December, IPO and DTI will hold the third and last skills training for this year which will be about making valuable products thru crocheting.
For his part, Mayor Edwin “EdSa” Santiago thanked the DTI for its consistent programs and support to the LGU that enables “MSMEs to recover from the economic-impact of Covid-19 and reinvigorates local economy in the new normal.”
