ANGELES CITY — Five households affected by a fire in Barangay Pampang on March 3, 2023 will receive ₱10,000 financial assistance from the city government, upon the orders of Mayor Carmelo “Pogi” Lazatin, Jr.
The cash assistance for the five households, composed of 22 individuals, will be charged to the Office of the City Mayor.
The Local Finance Committee (City Budget Office, City Accounting Office, and the City Treasurer’s Office) are now processing the immediate release of the assistance.
“This is just a small amount to help them get back on their feet,” Lazatin said.
Upon also the order of Mayor Lazatin, the families already received food packages and goods such as mats, candles, hygiene materials, towels, which were distributed by the City Social Welfare and Development Office led by Edna Duaso.
Angeles City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Officer-in-Charge Rodolfo Simeon said the rescue team went immediately to the scene to check on the victims, upon the prompt order of Mayor Lazatin.
To recall, this is not the first time that the Lazatin administration ensured the welfare of constituents affected by fire.
Some ₱360,000 worth of cash assistance were given to San Nicolas fire victims last October 2020; ₱10,000 aid each to 7 families in Lourdes Sur East on November 2021; three families in San Jose on January 2022; seven families in Barangay Malabanias on February 20, 2022; two households in Barangay Pandan last April 16 and 17, 2022; six families in Barangay Virgen Delos Remedios last August 21, 2022; and seven families in Barangay Pulungbulu last January 23, 2023.
