Garbo slate laden with ex-allies of Boking

‘A vote for MCG is a vote for the people’

MABALACAT CITY – The slate of re-electionist Mayor Crisostomo “Cris” Garbo is laden with former allies of his political rival.

Councilors Timmy Dee, Jerry Magsino and Noel Castro and former three-term Councilor Rox Peña used to be under the ticket of former Mayor Marino “Boking” Morales, who is running against Garbo.

Association of Barangay Captain (ABC) President Marjorie Morales Sambo, daughter of Morales, is seeking a councilor seat under the ticket of Garbo and Vice Mayor Geld Aquino.

Peña said he had seen the difference between the leadership and style governance of Morales and Garbo. He said people seeking medical assistance were not properly assisted during the time of Morales.

“They go to us councilors because no one was in the office of the mayor (Morales,” he added.

Peña said under Garbo, their problems were addressed and were given enough medical and burial assistance.

Magsino, who was a former barangay captain during the time of Morales, said he had difficulty helping sick people, especially when transporting them to the hospital. Garbo gave emergency vehicles to villages to solve the problem.

Dee said he was happy to see the dream of his father – the late businessman Anthony Dee –realized. He said his father wanted to help sick people that’s why he battled Morales for mayor in several elections.

“My father even started building a hospital for his dream,” he added in the dialect.

Dee said Garbo had fulfilled the dream of his father.

Castro said “the triumph of Garbo is the triumph of the people.” He praised the mayor for his dedication and unwavering service to their constituents.

For her part, Morales-Sambo said she is not fighting against her father and added that she just wanted to help continue the all-out support given by Garbo to the residents.
