MABALACAT CITY — Mayor Crisostomo Garbo, in his first public appearance after the recent elections, expressed heartfelt gratitude and optimism during the flag-raising ceremony held outside the city hall on the first Monday of June.

In his speech, Mayor Garbo emphasized the importance of unity and support for the incoming administration led by Mayor-elect Gerald Guttrie Aquino, Vice Mayor-elect Marcos Castro Jr., and the newly elected councilors.

“I am very thankful to the Lord for giving me the opportunity to serve Mabalacat for the past 33 years,” Garbo said. “After two weeks of reflection, I believe it is time for me to close the curtain on my political career and dedicate more time to my family.”

Garbo also thanked councilors Noel Castro and Timmy Dee, and acknowledged the contributions of his colleagues, including incumbent councilors Rox Peña, Carlo Dizon, Doc Cocoy Tiglao, and Jerry Magsino, who shared parting words to the LGU employees during the ceremony.

He urged city hall employees to give their full support to the new leadership, emphasizing that every leader has a vision and goal for the betterment of the city.
“Let us pray for our new leaders and support them wholeheartedly for the greater good of Mabalacat,” he added. “It is now their time to serve our constituents. We should stop politicking and start uniting for the development of our beloved city.”

Mayor Garbo concluded his message by reminding everyone that he has done his part in public service for 3 decades and that it is time for the new administration to take the helm: “Support and respect are vital as we move forward.”
