Globe Telecom, a leading player in digital and telecommunications services in the Philippines, has formally introduced its new President and CEO, Carl Marty Cruz, signaling the start of a bold new chapter of innovation, growth, and customer-focused transformation.

In his inaugural address as President and CEO, Cruz highlighted Globe’s strategic priorities—expanding network capacity, accelerating digital services growth, and preparing for the GCash initial public offering (IPO).

“We remain committed to delivering superior connectivity, driving digital innovation, and ensuring that GCash is push-button ready for its IPO,” Cruz said.
He also emphasized the Philippines’ rapid digital adoption, with the nation now among the world’s top internet users, averaging nearly nine hours of daily online engagement. Globe aims to capitalize on this momentum by expanding its network and enhancing service quality, particularly in underserved areas.
“This is a unique moment—not just for our industry, but for our country. We have an opportunity to create real impact, expanding our network and improving digital access for all Filipinos. Together, we will lead with purpose, performance, and people,” he ended.
Strong Financial Performance and Continued Investment

Chief Financial Officer Juan Carlo Puno also shared key financial highlights as Globe recorded revenues of ₱21.8 billion, a 40% increase year-over-year, marking its second-highest earnings since the pandemic. The company’s flagship fintech platform, GCash, now contributes 12% of pre-tax income, reinforcing its growing influence in digital financial inclusion.
“We continue to focus on profitability while actively reinvesting in our infrastructure,” said Puno. “We are targeting free cash flow sustainability and long-term value creation through continued innovation and customer investment,” Puno said.

For his part, Chief Commercial Officer Darius Delgado discussed Globe’s digital app which features personalized services, including VIP and Platinum servicing tiers. In 2024 alone, the company activated 1,200 new network sites, reaching 96% population coverage.
“This is about more than connectivity—it’s about creating possibilities. Our AI-powered network, cybersecurity investments, and initiatives like 5G Fixed Wireless Access (FWA) are empowering every Filipino to thrive in the digital age,” he furthered.
Accordingly, Globe remains committed to its mission of ensuring equitable access to technology across all sectors. With a future-ready roadmap centered on AI, infrastructure, cybersecurity, and digital finance, the company is poised to become the country’s most admired and inclusive digital operator.
