LUBAO, Pampanga – Amid the continued rise of dengue cases in Pampanga, Governor Lilia “Nanay” Pineda immediately responded by providing financial assistance to patients confined at the Escolastica Romero District Hospital (ERDH) in Lubao over the weekend.
Currently, 33 patients are being treated at the hospital – 17 are children, including a two-month-old infant, while 16 are adults, some of whom are pregnant. The patients come from various barangays in Lubao and nearby towns.

During her visit, Governor Pineda assured that no patient in any public hospital should pay for medical treatment.
“Walang dapat alalahanin sa gastusin. Ang mahalaga ay gumaling kayo at maging ligtas ang inyong pamilya,” Pineda said as she checked on the patients.

The financial aid aims to ease the burden on families, many of whom are already struggling with daily needs.
According to ERDH officials, dengue cases have risen by nearly 50% compared to the same period last year, prompting heightened health monitoring and community advisories.

The governor also stressed the importance of early detection of symptoms such as fever, headaches, vomiting, diarrhea, rashes, and bleeding, and urged families to stay alert.
She called on local officials and residents to continue conducting widespread cleanup drives and eliminate mosquito breeding grounds to prevent the further spread of the disease.
