GUAGUA, Pampanga – The village chief of Purok 6, Barangay Sto. Nino in this town was shot dead on Monday evening in Sto. Cristo here.
Police identified the victim as Ranier Asban, 45.
Witnesses said Asban was standing at an Echo gas station talking on his cellphone when a man walked towards him and repeatedly shot him before escaping on board a motorcycle heading towards Feeder Road, in Sto. Cristo.
Police immediately launched a dragnet operation and flash alarm to the Provincial Tactical Operation for the possible arrest of the suspect, who was wearing a black T-shirt, short pants and blue surgical facemask.
