GUAGUA, Pampanga — Drivers and operators of jeepneys and tricycles in Guagua received food assistance from 2nd district Board Member Mylyn Pineda Cayabyab as part of the personal initiative of the Pineda family to assist vulnerable sectors.
Pineda-Cayabyab was represented by 2nd District Board Members Fritzie David Dizon and Tonton Torres along with Guagua Vice Mayor Sajid Khan Eussof.
Some 2,833 drivers received canned goods and rice along with face masks and arm sleeves.
“Our transportation sector is still yet to recover from the economic hardships brought by the pandemic. They need all the support until our lives return at least to some level of normalcy,” Pineda-Cayabyab said, adding that the recovery of the transportation sector would depend once restrictions of economic and school sectors and further loosened.
She said she aims to assure vulnerable sectors that the government of the province is one with them in their needs and concerns.
“We hope to reach people who have yet to receive anything amid this ongoing pandemic. It is a statement of assurance that their local government is here for them,” Pineda-Cayabyab said.
