Gun runner caught in Pampanga sting

CAMP OLIVAS – A man allegedly involved in illegal gun trade was arrested on Tuesday in Arayat, Pampanga.

Pampanga acting police director Robin Sarmiento said Ranny Saycon, 39, of Bgy. Bucanan, Magalang, Pampanga, was nabbed by members of the Arayat police, Mapalad Patrol Base and 302nd RMFB3 in a buy-bust at Sta. Lucia Resettlement, Magalang, Pampanga.

Recovered from the possession of the suspect were one .38 pistol with defaced serial number, three live bullets, and the buy-bust money.

Sarmiento said the suspect, believed to be engaged in illegal gun trade in Arayat and nearby towns, will be charged with violation of RA 1059.

PRO3 director Brig. Gen. Matthew Baccay lauded his men for the successful operation, saying Central Luzon cops will have no let-up in its campaign to eradicate all forms of crimes, particularly illegal drugs and loose firearms.
