Mabalacat City celebrates year-end accolades, achievements

The city of Mabalacat is concluding the year with an array of awards and accomplishments in the fourth quarter of 2024.

Mayor Crisostomo Garbo expressed his gratitude during the flag ceremony at City Hall, stating, “God is good all the time. Despite all of what my political opponents are doing against me, God is still blessing us and the city.”

This year, Mabalacat City has achieved significant recognition, including the coveted Beyond Compliant status at the 24th Gawad KALASAG Seal of Excellence.

In addition to this honor, Mabalacat has produced outstanding individuals who have brought pride to the city. Notably, Natalya Margaret Lindsay was crowned Mutya Ning Kapampangan, displaying the beauty, wisdom, and talent of local youth. The city also celebrates two recipients of the Most Outstanding Kapampangan Awards in the fields of Sports (Gian Santos), and Science and Technology (Dr. Noelynna Ramos), 

The Tabnuan Community Chorale also demonstrated exceptional talent by winning the grand prize at the Inter-town Chorale Competition in Pampanga. On the sports front, Mabalacat’s own Justine Baltazar, a standout basketball player, was named Finals MVP after leading his team to victory in the Maharlika Pilipinas Basketball League championship.

Adding to the city’s accolades, Raven Renz Lansangan claimed the title of Mister Pampanga 2024, while Daerein Gonzales was crowned Queen of the World Philippines 2024.

In the realm of athletics, swimming sensation FJ Catherine Cruz made headlines by winning a gold medal at Batang Pinoy 2024 and setting a new record, showcasing the exceptional talent emerging from Mabalacat.

Capping off a truly remarkable year, Mabalacat City proudly received its 8th Seal of Good Local Governance (SGLG) award from the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG), an attestation to the city’s effective governance in transparency and accountability.

Also during the Monday program, the Mabalacat City PopGAD Office presented its ISO certification to the city mayor. 

“These are the fruits of our heartfelt public service and teamwork as a local government unit. I thank you all and I love you all!,” Garbo added.
