MABALACAT CITY – Mayor Crisostomo Garbo has revealed his plan to create the city’s own command center in 2023 during the City Peace and Order Council (CPOC) and the City Anti-Drug Abuse Council (CADAC) meeting on November 21, 2022.
“Mabalacat city is known to have multiple entry and exit points via the NLEx, SCTEx, Clark, and MacArthur Highway. Adding more eyes through a smart command center will create significant difference resulting to prompt police response, traffic flow decongestion, and more prepared in disaster,” Mayor Garbo said.
The assembly was attended by Councilor Noel Castro, the barangay captains of the city, the officers from the Department of Interior and Local Government, Philippine National Police, Bureau of Fire, Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency, Department of Social Welfare Development, and some government employees from the local government unit.
“Naiintindihan ko na mayroon tayong mga barangays na kulang sa kakayahan na magpalagay ng mga CCTV cameras sa kanilang nasasakupan dahil maliit lamang ang kanilang barangay at hindi nila naipapasok sa kanilang budget. Kaya nais kong ipaalam sa inyo na isa sa mga flagship programs ko next year ay ang pagpapatayo ng sarili nating command center,” MCG said.
Garbo also informed the village chiefs that the city’s command center will be strategically located near the police station, the BFP and the city’s Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office.
“This is going to be a 3-storey building equipped with all the state-of-the-art technology to help our city in monitoring the peace and order situation, the traffic flow, and the real-time weather for disaster management. And I want all our barangays including those in remote areas in the upland to have CCTV cameras as well,” Garbo added.
