Man wanted for murder killed in police encounter

BATAAN – A man wanted for murder who hid in a mountainous area in Limay, Bataan was killed on Friday after he wielded a bolo on approaching policemen.

In a report to Bataan police director Col. Romell Velasco, Limay police chief Maj. Gerald John Bautista said operating units of 21st SAC, SAF based in Morong, Bataan  was about to serve a warrant of arrest for murder against suspect Charlie Mabag of Bgy. Sinalangtan, Calbiga, Western Samar, who was hiding in Sitio Tikip, Brgy. Reformista, Limay.

Based on the report, when  Mabag saw the policemen, he pulled out a bolo and hacked one of the arresting personnel who sustained a laceration on his left foot.

This prompted the other cops to shoot the suspect who died on the spot.
 
A companion of Mabag, identified as 20-year-old Jan Jan Lani Passayra, who also attacked one of the police officers, was shot on his right leg and was later rushed to the hospital.
