Mayor Jon holds State of the Children’s Address

Mayor Jon Lazatin led Angeles City’s celebration of National Children’s Month with the State of the Children’s Address, held at the Angeles City Library on November 27, 2025.

The program brought together Mayor Jon Lazatin, Vice Mayor Amos B. Rivera, Councilors Atty. Jeselle Dayrit, Niknok Bañola, Aaron Pineda, Maricel Morales, city leaders, educators, parents, and young learners to honor the importance of protecting and nurturing every Batang Angeleño.

The program opened with an invocation from Camia Day Care Center followed by a special intermission performance from the Baby Huey Day Care Center which is the winner of the City’s Children’s Month Celebration Cheerdance Competition and won 3rd Runner up in the Regional Children’s Month Celebration, setting a joyful tone for the celebration. Bahay Pag-Asa Angeles City also took part and shared a song reflecting the city’s inclusive approach to supporting all children, especially those who need care and guidance.

Mayor Jon Lazatin acknowledged the city’s recognition as a national finalist under the Highly Urbanized Cities category for the Presidential Award for Child-Friendly Municipalities and Cities, calling it both an honor and a reminder of the responsibility to keep improving.

During the State of the Children’s Address, Mayor Jon Lazatin presented the city’s accomplishments and future plans centered on child welfare. He emphasized that Angeles City’s progress is deeply tied to the success and safety of its young citizens. The Mayor underscored ongoing programs such as expanded health services for children, strengthened child protection systems, improved access to early childhood education, and livelihood support for families such as initiatives that help ensure that every child grows up in a community that cares for them.

He also expressed gratitude to teachers, day care workers, City Social Welfare and Development Office (CSWDO), social workers, barangay officials, and partner organizations who continue to work hand in hand with the local government to make Angeles City a safer and kinder place for children. The Mayor reaffirmed that the city will continue investing in programs that empower the youth, noting that every Batang Angeleño deserves a future full of possibilities.

A Pledge of Commitment followed, signed by the Mayor, members of the City Council, and the Angeles LGU Local Council for the Protection of Children (LCPC), signaling strengthened coordination among local leaders in advancing children’s rights and well-being.

With closing messages from CSWDO OIC Mr. Francis D. Deguzman, the program emphasized the shared responsibility of families, schools, and local leaders in raising a generation of confident, protected, and empowered young Angeleños.
