ANGELES CITY — Mayor Carmelo “Jon” Lazatin II personally inspected the city’s newly completed Sewerage Treatment Plant (STP) located near the Pampang Public Market, following the facility’s completion.
The said facility is now on its dry run.

During the inspection, Mayor Jon surveyed the plant’s infrastructure and operations, checking its role in treating wastewater so it can be repurposed for non-potable uses. The STP is expected to significantly reduce water pollution emanating from the public market and surrounding areas.

Earlier this year, then-Mayor Carmelo “Pogi” Lazatin, Jr., now the congressman of the First District of Pampanga, officially inaugurated the city’s first locally funded wastewater treatment facility. He described the milestone as a landmark step toward environmental protection and sustainable urban development.

The Pampang STP is the second wastewater treatment facility established in Angeles City. The first STP is located at the city slaughterhouse and was built through a Joint Venture Agreement. Unlike the slaughterhouse plant, the Pampang facility was financed entirely by the city government.
