Mayor Jon orders inspections of city’s gas stations

The Angeles City Government, through the Business Permits and Licensing Division (BPLD), has started inspecting gasoline stations across the city to monitor fuel supply and prevent hoarding and unjustified price increases.

According to Mayor Carmelo “Jon” Lazatin II, the initiative aims to protect consumers and ensure fair and transparent fuel prices for Angeleños, motorists and businesses in Angeles City, especially amid global developments affecting oil prices.

Mayor Lazatin emphasized the importance of protecting consumers for all Angeleños, including motorists, tricycle drivers, parcel and food delivery riders, PUJ drivers, and businesses that rely on affordable fuel for their daily operations.

The Mayor added that the city government remains committed to safeguarding the welfare of residents by making sure gasoline stations comply with pricing regulations and operate responsibly.

The inspection activities are being conducted from March 9 to 12 and March 16 to 19, 2026. The BPLD has also been directed to submit regular inspection reports to ensure proper monitoring.

The Angeles City Government also reminded gasoline station owners and operators to strictly follow the guidelines set by the Department of Energy regarding fuel pricing and supply.

Hoarding and illegal sale of petroleum products are prohibited under Batas Pambansa Blg. 33, as amended by Presidential Decree No. 1865, and violators may face penalties and possible cancellation of their business permits.

Angeles LGU encourages Angeleños to remain vigilant and report any gasoline station suspected of hoarding fuel or imposing unjustified price increases. Through cooperation between the community and the local government, the city aims to ensure fair fuel prices and protect the welfare of all motorists and residents.
