SANTA ROSA, Laguna — The president of Mekeni Food Corporation called on media practitioners and business leaders to go beyond delivering factual and unbiased information by actively spreading hope, especially amid ongoing global tensions affecting economies and communities.
Speaking during his acceptance as an honorary member of the Camp Vicente Lim Press Corps (CVLPC) on Friday, Mekeni president Pruds Garcia emphasized the critical role of both sectors in shaping public sentiment during uncertain times, including those influenced by international conflicts such as the situation involving Iran.
“While it is our responsibility to report and communicate the truth, it is equally important to inspire hope and resilience among our people,” he said, underscoring the influence of media narratives and corporate leadership in guiding communities through crisis.
The honorary membership was conferred in recognition of Mekeni Food Corporation’s significant contributions to the food industry and its expanding impact beyond Central Luzon to other key regions, particularly CALABARZON.
The oathtaking ceremony was held as part of the CVLPC’s 23rd anniversary celebration in Santa Rosa, Laguna, bringing together members of the press corps, stakeholders, and partners from various sectors.
