CITY OF SAN FERNANDO – A Kapampangan OFW from Bacolor town was awarded an OFW Rise Livelihood Package by the OWWA-National Reintegration Center for OFWs (OWWA-NRCO), in partnership with Coca-Cola Philippines.
A Business Support Package was awarded to OFW Jommel Versano Sioco after finishing the 5-day training under OWWA-NRCO by no less than OWWA Administrator Hans Leo J. Cacdac. The package included P20,000 worth of business products and P10,000 worth of Coca-Cola products.
The activity was also graced by NRCO OIC Ma. Luisa S. Reyes, OWWA RWO 3 OIC Maria Cristina B. Mallare, Admin and Finance OIC Cornelia DG. Chanco and representatives from Coca – Cola Philippines.
OFW Sioco worked overseas for 16 years and he was a hotel supervisor in UAE when he lost his job due to COVID-19 in 2020. He went back to the Philippines and applied for the DOLE-AKAP Program and received P10,000 last November 2020. He also availed of the Balik Pinas! Balik Hanapbuhay Program (BPBH) of OWWA amounting to P20,000, which he used to open a sari-sari store in their community.
OWWA and Coca-Cola’s partnership through the OFW RISE Program, honors our modern-day heroes who rose above the challenges brought by the pandemic with the aim of helping them bounce back from the global health crisis.
The activity was conducted with strict compliance to the Inter-Agency Task Force’s (IATF) guidelines in conducting gatherings. All participants were wearing face mask while maintaining social distancing.
