“Maragul ku pu kapasalamatan uling ing lugud da para kekami, talagang papakit da,” said Elisa Santos, 47, as she received ₱5,625 financial aid on Wednesday through the Emergency Cash Transfer (ECT) program for families affected by Typhoon Carina.

Governor Dennis “Delta” Pineda and Vice Governor Lilia “Nanay” Pineda attended the distribution and expressed their gratitude to President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos, Jr., Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Secretary Rex Gatchalian, and Department of National Defense Secretary and NDRRMC Chair Gilbert Teodoro for approving their request to extend support to Kapampangans.
Santos, a resident of Sasmuan, shared that the assistance would go toward her husband’s medication.

“Malaking tulong po ito—ipambibili ko po ng gamot ng mister ko na isa rin sa mga natulungan nila. Nagkaroon siya ng bukol sa ilong. Ngayon, natunaw na ‘yung bukol at nagpapalakas na siya. Salamat kay Gov. Delta at Nanay,” she said.

Santos was one of 7,405 beneficiaries of today’s payout, which covered 4,438 residents of Guagua, 1,815 in Sasmuan, and 1,152 in Bacolor.
The assistance was provided through the DSWD, in coordination with the Provincial Government of Pampanga.
This was the second wave of the payout in the province. The first was held a day earlier in Arayat and Candaba, where 6,932 Kapampangans received the same aid. To date, a total of 14,337 families have been served under the ECT program.

The ECT program is a post-disaster intervention of the DSWD designed to help families affected by disasters such as typhoons, earthquakes, and flooding.
