MANILA, Philippines — Filipino excellence once again took center stage as Philippine-made rums Tanduay Reserve Rum 10 Years and Tanduay Double Rum received gold medals at the prestigious World Spirits Competition, a contest that gathers the finest products in the global spirits industry.
“These honors reflect our commitment to producing world-class products that showcase Filipino excellence and innovation,” said Roy Kristoffer Sumang, Tanduay International Business Development Manager.
Hosted by Cigar & Spirits Magazine, the World Spirits Competition gathers distinguished judges to taste, evaluate, and rate a curated selection of spirits through a blind-tasting process. To ensure unbiased evaluation, all identifying information is removed from the packaging.
From this rigorous judging, winners are selected to receive double gold, gold, silver, or bronze medals.
Two of the Country’s Best Rums

Tanduay Reserve Rum 10 Years is one of Tanduay’s acclaimed premium rums. It is a medium rum that honors time and tradition, as it is aged for 10 years in ex-bourbon barrels. Perfect for both sipping neat or in cocktails, it has aromas of dried fruits, toasted oak, vanilla, and butterscotch. On the palate, this dark amber-colored rum offers flavors of caramel, vanilla, and dried fruits, finishing with woody notes, raisins and dark chocolate.

Another internationally awarded Philippine rum, Tanduay Double Rum is made from a blend of rums aged for 16 years and 5 years, and further aged for another 2 years in ex-bourbon barrels. This aging process makes it an exceptional sipping rum with sweet, fruity, floral, citrus, vanilla, caramelized pineapple, toasted nuts, cherry, vanilla, and tropical fruits aroma. Red in color, it tastes sweet, fruity, and floral, and has a medium and dry finish.
“As we celebrate each achievement, we raise our glass to our country. The quality sugarcane we use is sourced locally, and our aging, distillation, and packaging processes are all done here by hardworking Filipinos whose passion and dedication we recognize with our every win,” said Sumang.
