Pineda family distributes ₱7.6M to residents affected by oil spill in Oriental Mindoro

POLA, Oriental Mindoro – Pampanga Governor Dennis “Delta” Pineda led on Friday the distribution of cash assistance to 1,862 families from Barangays Bayanan, Zone I, Zone II, Biga, Campamento, Maluanluan, Pahilahan, Pula, Bahay na Tubig, Misong, and Tagumpay in this town.

The said distribution was realized during the #TulongPola mission initiated by the governor, and participated in by 85 delegates from the provincial government and other government agencies.

Aside from the cash and food packs given by the provincial government, Governor Pineda and his family also gave ₱1,000 to each family affected by the oil spill caused by the sinking of the MT Princess Empress last February 28.

“Iyan po ang pusong Kapampangan na aming ipinapakita sa inyo,” said Governor Pineda.

Prior to this, a group of 1,587 beneficiaries from Barangays Batuhan and Calima also received the same assistance from the provincial government and Pineda family.

A total of 1,390 fisherfolks in town was also given ₱3,000 each in addition to cash and food assistance given by the provincial government.
