PORAC, Pampanga – The newly-constructed P370-million iconic municipal hall in Barangay Cangatba, Porac – design of which was inspired by the US Library of Congress – was inaugurated on Feb. 5, 2025.
Senator Manuel “Lito” M. Lapid, warmly welcomed by Poraqueños, led the inauguration of the new government building.
The construction of the structure – sprawled in a three-hectare property donated by the family of the late Porac former Vice Mayor Genaro M. Dimalanta – was funded by the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH), according to acting Mayor Myla B. Clarete.
Clarete said the municipal government sincerely extends its gratitude to Lapid, a native son of Porac, for working on the allotment of funds for the new municipal hall.
“Ang bayan po ng Porac at ang lokal na pamahalaan ay taos-pusong nagpapasalamat sa ating butihing senador, Sen. Lito Lapid, sa kanyang pagsusumikap na mabigyan ng pondo ang pagpapatayo sa ating bagong munisipyo. Ang kanyang pagmamalasakit sa aming mga Poraqueños ay labis po naming kinikilala at pinapahalagahan,” Clarete said.
She also said that the transfer of the seat of the municipality from Barangay Poblacion to the present site at Circumferential Road in Brgy. Cangatba is made by virtue of Municipal Ordinance No. 01, Series of 2025.
The new Porac Police Station, which was also inaugurated yesterday, is part of the municipal hall complex.
