BAGAC, Bataan — President Rodrigo Duterte was the guest of honor and speaker at the groundbreaking ceremony of the Philippine Sports Training Center (PSTC) held in Bgy. Parang, in this town.
President Duterte was joined in the event by officials and employees of the Philippine Sports Commission led by Chairman William Ramirez, Senator Bong Go, officials of the Bataan provincial led by Gov. Albert Raymond S. Garcia, PRO3 director Brig. Gen. Matthew Baccay, Bataan Acting Director Col Romell Velasco and guests from the private sector and other stakeholders.
The training facility, created and funded by virtue of Republic Act No 11214, will be completed in 2025.
The facility — which aims to cater to the training needs of the national athletes competing in 39 Olympic and non-Olympic sports — will be equipped with state-of-the-art facilities for administration, medical needs, sports training and dormitories for athletes and coaches.
The provincial government of Bataan donated the 250,000-square meter land in Bagac, Bataan where the sports complex will be constructed.
