PRO3 deploys 13K cops for Holy Week, full alert status set March 30

What started as an initial deployment of around 2,000 personnel for SUMVAC and Holy Week has now been significantly expanded, with the Police Regional Office 3 (PRO3) mobilizing over 13,000 personnel across Central Luzon to ensure a safe, orderly, and peaceful observance from March 29 to April 5, 2026.

Effective March 30, 2026, PRO3 will also be placed under full alert status, ensuring maximum police visibility, rapid response capability, and heightened operational readiness throughout the region.

This includes almost 9,000 PRO3 police personnel, augmented by more than 1,000 additional units, and supported by around 3,500 force multipliers and advocacy groups, reflecting a full-scale, whole-of-community security approach.

PRO3 Regional Director, PBGEN Jess B. Mendez, emphasized that the increase in deployment is a deliberate move to match the growing number of travelers, pilgrims, and devotees across Central Luzon.

“From our initial 2,000 personnel, we scaled up to more than 13,000 to ensure that our presence is felt where it matters most. Habang dumarami ang ating kababayan sa mga lansangan, mga simbahan at iba pang pook sambahan, mas pinapalakas din natin ang ating pwersa para sa kanilang kaligtasan,” PBGEN Mendez said.

To ensure operational readiness and effectiveness, regional staff are conducting area inspections in key deployment sites to assess personnel preparedness, visibility, and responsiveness on the ground.

Police visibility has been intensified through increased foot and mobile patrols, while Police Assistance Desks and Centers (PADs/Cs) have been strategically established in churches, transport terminals, highways, and other convergence areas. Road safety marshals are likewise deployed to manage traffic flow and assist motorists.

Even as early as Palm Sunday, PRO3 personnel will be positioned to secure places of worship and ensure the smooth conduct of religious activities.

“Ang layunin natin ay malinaw—ang bawat pamilya ay makapagnilay ng Semana Santa nang ligtas at payapa. Nananatili tayong nakaantabay at handang tumugon sa anumang sitwasyon,” he added.

Aligned with the PNP Focused Agenda of PNP Chief, PGEN Jose Melencio C. Nartatez Jr., PRO3 continues to deliver responsive, community-oriented policing in partnership with the public—ensuring that Pulis Central Luzon nagbibigay ng serbisyong mabilis, tapat, at nararamdaman.
