PRO3 steps up anti-crime drive ahead of holidays

CAMP OLIVAS – The Central Luzon police continues to be on its toes to address security and public safety concerns in the region for the holiday celebrations under “IMPLAN 42 /2021” or LIGTAS PASKUHAN.

PRO3 director Brig. Gen. Matthew Baccay ordered all city and provincial directors in the region to continuously conduct police operations, alertness and vigilance.

Likewise, security inspections and police presence should be intensified in all bus terminals and places of convergence as well as stringent anti-crime information drive in barangays and commercial business areas.

As early as December 16, Police Assistance Desks manned by almost 3,000 PNP personnel were in place in all transport terminals, business and commercial establishments and places of worship to ensure public safety and order, and provide public assistance to missing persons particularly children and elderly in support with other agencies.

Baccay ordered the deployment of Motorist Assistance Hubs with Route Safety marshals composed of 339 police personnel in major and secondary roads in the region 24/7 until the Feast of the Epiphany on January 6, 2022.

Extensive utilization of force multipliers such as volunteer groups, private security guards and government security forces as partners to enhance security coverage in the communities is also being undertaken by the PRO3.

Meanwhile, to prevent the manufacture, distribution, and sale of banned and dangerous firecrackers, a series of inspections are being conducted by the PRO3 on stores and warehouses in Bulacan.

Baccay reminded the public to refrain from using prohibited firecrackers to avoid any untoward incident during the Christmas and New Year celebrations.
